Case study
How Atelier Mora closed a $2.4M round
Commerce · Pre-seed · 5 weeks
A commerce startup used the product we designed as the demo that carried its pre-seed raise. Atelier Mora had a sharp thesis on made-to-order furniture but only a deck to show it. Every investor meeting stalled on the same question: what does the product actually look like?
~ The approach
Design the money moment. We focused on the one flow investors needed to feel: a customer configuring a piece and seeing price and lead time update live.
Prototype that feels real. A high-fidelity prototype with real product data, so the founder could hand over a phone in meetings instead of clicking slides.
Build the system behind it. A design system and component library ready for engineering, so the demo became the first version of the product.
What we shipped
Product configurator
Pick a piece, change materials and size, and see price and lead time live.
Interactive investor demo
A phone-ready prototype with real catalogue data for every meeting.
Brand identity
Logo, type, and colour that made a pre-seed company look established.
Design system
Tokens, components, and patterns documented for the first engineers.
Component library
Engineering-ready React components, so the demo became version one.
Pitch narrative
The demo flow scripted to match the deck, slide for slide.
The results
- $2.4M
- Pre-seed raised
- 5 wks
- Brief to demo
- 11
- Investor meetings with the demo
“Investors stopped asking what we were building once they saw the demo.”
